Pi Network's latest update is causing dissatisfaction among users. With the upcoming 'Pi2Day 2025' on June 28th, the introduction of the '.pi' domain auction system has left the community expressing disappointment over the lack of substantial progress.
The Pi Core Team has released a dedicated application for domain bidding, providing bid tracking and email notification services. However, many users argue that these updates fall far short of market expectations, demanding stronger measures to demonstrate the Token ecosystem's tangible achievements.
Domain bidding started three months ago, but only about 3 million PI (approximately 2.5 billion won) has been bid so far. Considering PI's daily trading volume (around 139 billion won), this is a negligible amount. Currently, PI is trading at around $0.60 (about 835 won), and its price has plummeted by 60% over the past month, further chilling investment sentiment.
The community, which initially expected major positive news to boost Pi Coin's value, is spreading the view that this domain auction announcement is woefully insufficient. Some users warned that "if Pi2Day only brings domain-related announcements, a dark cloud will hang over the Pi ecosystem".
Users are most strongly demanding improvements in universal KYC procedures, listing on major exchanges, and providing practically usable ecosystem tools. Currently, only six companies have completed corporate verification (KYB), and the recently announced $100 million startup investment fund 'Pi Network Ventures' has yet to disclose specific investment cases.
Meanwhile, 248 million PI is set to be newly released into the circulation market in July. With additional selling pressure expected, warnings are growing that if the Pi Core Team fails to present a clear strategy, it could accelerate price drops and user exodus.
At this point, the '.pi' domain auction is merely a 'passive advancement' that falls short of expectations. For Pi Network to maintain trust, concrete implementation, not just slogans, is urgently needed.
