Bloomberg Senior Analyst Predicts "Meme Coin ETF Will Be Released by 2026"
Eric Balchunas, Bloomberg's senior ETF analyst, forecasted a high likelihood of a meme coin ETF being released by 2026. This idea, first proposed by crypto trader Vladcoin, is now showing signs of becoming a reality.
The analyst predicted that an actively managed ETF trading based on meme coin performance will emerge in the future. He explained, "Multiple active cryptocurrency ETFs will be released by winter 2025, and a dedicated meme coin ETF will likely come out around 2026."
According to Polymarket's prediction market, the probability of a Dogecoin ETF being approved by the end of 2025 is 44%.
Currently, major asset management firms like BlackRock, Fidelity, and VanEck have already launched or applied for Bitcoin and Ethereum spot ETFs. These ETFs have attracted billions of dollars in funds within months of their release.
Balchunas analyzed that meme coins like Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, and Pepe are suitable for active management due to their significant price volatility and speculative nature. He also predicted that a meme coin ETF could give birth to a new star manager in the investment industry.
